Marmaris is another popular holiday resort in the region. It is also a centre of sailing & diving area and there are two major marinas for yachts wintering. The area is surrounded with pine forests and nice beaches for the sea lovers.

TURUNC BAY

It is a beautiful bay on the Mediterranean coast surrounded with pine trees. This area is a former fishing village. Moreover despite of the fast development, Turunc succeeded in preserving the nature. A good evidence for the quality of this village as a resort is the Blue Flag award that guarantees clean nature, beaches and sea water.

IZTUZU BEACH

The beach commonly referred to as Turtle Beach and also known as IzTuzu Beach, lies at the end of the Dalyan Delta. At one end the beach is backed by mountains and hills covered in pine trees. The Beach gets the name Turtle Beach from the Caretta Caretta (Loggerhead) Turtles that nest on the beach between May and September.

KAUNOS RUINS

The ancient site of Kaunos was a valuable port trading in salt on the southern coast of Caria. Unfortunately this great harbour has been overflowed by an earthquake which destroyed most of the parts of the city.

DALYAN

Dalyan is a small town on the south-western coast of Turkey. Set in the center of a broad delta whose natural beauty remains unspoilt. Dalyan is established in an environmentally conservation area. The town has therefore retained its natural charm and beauty, it is a heaven for relaxation for the naturalist travellers.

EKINCIK

It is an unspoiled nature conservation area of breathtaking beauty. On the beach there are small range of water sports facilities including banana boat and water ski. as well as some local shops and a restaurants.

TERSANE ISLAND

In the past, there used to be a shipyard in the area for boat building and maintenance and therefore the island was named  “Tersane Island “ as in Turkish boatyard.

HAMAM ( Sunken Bath ) BAY

There is a demolished bath that can be seen in this cove and it is named as “Sunken Bath“. A small path goes up the hill among pine and olive trees, from there, you can see the port and watch the scenery. 

YASSICA ISLANDS

In accordance with cruising and anchoring regulations for the preservation of environment of Göcek bays; anchoring is no more allowed here. There are floating moorings. This area consists of seven small islands to be visited for their shallow pool like waters especially for the children. 

BEDRI RAHMI BAY

The bay was named after a famous Turkish artist Bedri Rahmi after his visit to the area. Ağa Harbour is another anchoring point for the yachts and selected bay for overnights.

FETHIYE

Fethiye is a busy local market town with a large Marina, it offers a taste of real Turkey with its shopping streets with local farmers. Behind the town in the cliffs there are several magnificient Lycian Tombs can be seen. Best to take the time  walking around the town, have a cup of tea or coffee with locals in Tea Houses.
